ODBC driver not listed oracle 32 bit client on installing

Windows ODBC driver not listed oracle 32 bit client on installing

I installed the 32 bit client on my application server on 64 bit windows machine but it does not list my oracle client driver in ODBC configuration.

Solution:
For making the ODBC connection from 32 bit client you need to open 32 bit ODBC software by default when we go to control panel and ODBC , it will open 64 bit mode.

Following is the command to open 32 bit odbc, go to run and paste this it will open 32 bit odbc configuration. you can select 32 bit oracle client and configure the odbc connection with 32 bit oracle.
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

Information:

Windows keep ODBC driver in register. Following is the location and command:

regedit command is used for checking register.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ODBC
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ODBC
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\ODBC
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WOW6432Node\ODBC

The ODBC Data Source Administrator (ODBCAD32.exe) picks up the list of entries from the following registry path.

On a x64 bit system for a x64 bit drivers
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers

On a x64 bit system for a x32 bit drivers: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers

On a x32 bit system:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers
