Step 1: Log in to Oracle Enterprise Manager
1. Open a web browser and navigate to the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control URL.
2. Log in with your administrative credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to the “Add Target” Option
1. From the Enterprise Manager homepage, go to Setup (top-right corner).
2. Select Add Target → Add Targets Manually.
Step 3: Install the Management Agent (if required)
If the target is on a new host that is not yet monitored:
1. Click Deploy Agent.
2. Select the appropriate platform and download the agent software.
3. Install the agent on the target system.
4. Once installed, the agent must be configured to communicate with the OEM.
Step 4: Add the Target
Once the agent is installed:
1. In Add Targets Manually, select Add Using Guided Process.
2. Choose the type of target (e.g., database, host, WebLogic, Exadata, etc.).
3. Provide the required credentials and connection details.
4. Click Test Connection to verify the configuration.
5. Click Next, then Submit to add the target.
Step 5: Confirm and Manage the Target
1. Navigate to Targets → All Targets to ensure that the new target appears.
2. Click on the target to check its status and metrics.
