Things to consider before buying an old laptop

What you need to check before buying a used laptop

  1. Examine the body of the laptop.
  2. Do not buy a laptop using a Hard disk drive. Only buy a laptop with SSD (solid state Drive)
  3. Check the laptop battery with the help of the following command:
powercfg /batteryreport

4. Check the harddisk error by running the following command:

chkdsk

Found no problems means harddisk is OK

5. Check the ram of the laptop.

1. Go to the RUN ( CTRL+R) and run the command mdsched.exe
2. Click on Restart now and computer will start and check the problem.
3. When computer is on then open to the event viewer.
4. Go to Windows Logs and navigate to System.
5. Click on Find under Actions in the right-side pane.
6. Type "MemoryDiagnostic" and click on Find Next.

6. Check the speaker by listening to the sound.

7. Check the dead pixel on the screen with the help of websites https://deadpixeltest.org/test-results/ or type on google “dead pixel”

8. Check each key of the keyboard with the help of https://keyboard-test.space/
